The African industrialist and front-runner of Africa Technology, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo has done a magnificent job in the area of plant medicine. He has developed enticing modern forms of administration of plant medicine to make it more attractive to people.
In addition to this, he has extended the plant medicine to animal husbandry where boost in the reproductive potentials of domestic animals have been observed. His admirable contribution to plant medicine as well as other works has generated a series of puzzling questions about the knowledge base of this great man because it seems like he is specialised in so many fields beyond imagination.
It also beats the imagination of many people to see one man manufacturing automobiles, television sets, robots, armoured car, rocket display, air conditioners, radio consoles, designing plans and constructing building (architecture), designing and spraying/painting his equipment and buildings, Preaching about God, performing miracles ( bringing dead people back to life, splitting the ground open for water to spring out to form a pond filled with Tilapia et cetera), fish farming, digging boreholes, cultivation and management of woody plants (arboriculture), cultivation and management of ornamentals (floriculture), cultivation and management of vegetables (olericulture), manufacture of car engines, combining sea shells and the nuts of palm fruits with others things to manufacture metals, manufacture of CCTV cameras, manufacture of computers, manufacture of block making machines, manufacture of money counterfeit money detecting machine, crane, excavator et cetera and aside all these plant medicine. We hope you also know that he has manufactured an aircraft already and he is manufacturing another one. Manufacture of marine vessels is also looming.
In this publication we will focus our attention on plant medicine. We plan to publish his works one by one. If we try to publish many at a time, the publication will be too long and overly tiring to read because he has done and continues to do myriad of things.
As early as 1987, after series of successful research into natural plant medicine, the Star of Africa established the Great KOSA Clinic to respond to the health needs of the society and to treat common diseases using African healing methods and traditions in a modern clinical environment.
The Great KOSA clinic was and continuous to be famous for its success in treating chronic diseases which had lingered with some patients for years. The Clinic has been referred to as “Last Stop” by most people especially patients who finally got treated at the clinic for diseases they thought were not curable. After establishing the clinic, the Star of Africa focused on researching deeper into natural plant medicine. Apostle Safo’s vision in this area was to change the face of plant medicine, make it more attractive and acceptable in the country and continent and also introduce the administration of herbal preparations via infusions and injectables.
Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, determined to continuously advance research into natural plant medicine and achieve the dream he had envision in the 1980’s, established the Plant Medicine department as part of Apostle Safo Suaye Technological Centre in 2005. The department has in stock natural plant medicine efficient in the treatment of diseases like malaria, cough, typhoid fever, hernia, ulcer, joint pains, rheumatism, convulsions, diabetes, high blood pressure (hypertension), low blood pressure ( hypotension), infertility, asthma, tuberculosis, anaemia, influenza, migraine, onchocerciasis, malfunctioning kidneys, lung diseases, fibroid, piles, cancer, baldness, general body weakness, jaundice, hepatitis, etc
Although the treatment to some of these diseases were developed by Apostle Dr. Safo even before the 1980’s, the department has developed other forms of processing and packaging of the medicine into various drug administration forms such pills, syrups, injectables, infusions, tea bags etc.

Extension of Natural Plant Medicine Research into Animals
The Star of Africa has extended the natural plant medicine into boosting breeding potentials in animals. The trials done using rabbits increased the number of kittens reproduced drastically. Rabbits were bought from the Ministry of Agriculture, Ghana, and divided into two groups.
One group was administered with the plant extract whilst the other group was not administered with the plant extract to serve as a control. After this the rabbits were allowed to cross (mate). It was observed that the group of rabbits that were administered with the natural plant extracts gave birth to 15 kittens each whilst those that were not administered with the natural plant extracts gave birth to 4 kittens each. This activity was carried out on many occasions.
The health conditions of the doe (female rabbit) that gave birth to 15 kittens were the same as those that gave birth to 4 kittens showing that the natural plant extracts used do not have any effect on the health conditions of the rabbits but only increase their reproductive potentials. The size, weight and health conditions of the 15 kittens were also the same as that of the 4 kittens showing that the natural plant extract does not have any effect on the kittens reproduced either.
The meat quality of the doe that gave birth to the 15 kittens was the same as the meat quality of the doe that gave birth to the 4 kittens. All series of scientific observations, tests and analysis confirm that the natural plant extract that were administered to the rabbits do not have any effect on the health, size, weight etc on the doe or the kitten reproduced. The natural plants extract only increased the reproductive potential of the rabbit.
From 4 to 15, that is 375% increment in number of kittens reproduced.
The plant extracts used in these trials were extracts from leaves, stems and roots of plants, seeds and fruits. Some of the plants used are vegetables example onion.
With regards to the numerical boost in animal breeding, the department has extended the research to larger animals like sheep, goats, cattle as well as other animals. This would help produce enough meat to feed the nation and drastically cut down the importation of these foods into the country.
The Star of Africa said Plant medicine was what our forefathers used to cure themselves and that plant medicine is very important. He said that Joseph was able to store food during 7 years of plenty harvest and 7 years of famine, making it 14 years in all, but the food did not go bad (Genesis 41:1 to 57). Similarly Jacob, the son of Isaac, used plants to cause sheep and goats to give birth to streaked, speckled and spotted young ones ( Genesis 30:25 to 41).
In the same light, he has also used plant medicine to increase the reproductive potential of rabbits and will extend it to other animals.
Professor Ahunu, Provost, College of Agriculture, University of Ghana legorn, upon seeing the rabbits at Awoshie during the annual Technology Exhibition of the Kristo Asafo at Awoshie was astonished and exclaimed “I have never seen anything like this before.”
Nii Odai Ayiku the 4th, Chief of Nungua (Nungua Mantse) praised Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo for his ingenuity.
Honourable Felix Owusu Agyapong, Minister of Parlimentary affairs, Majority Leader in Parliament and the Ag Minister of Transportation at the time, upon inspecting the rabbits and other works was proud of Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo and said “Ghana needs the brains of men like Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo….. We thank God for letting us have Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo who is from our land and doing these amazing things for us.”
Professor Stephen Adae, Rector Gimpa, Centre of Excellence, said “I want to take this opportunity to specially thank Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka for what he is doing for our nation. One of the things that this country needs most is for us to believe in ourselves that we are capable as a people to transform the nation. He ( Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo) therefore is one of those people who signifies the unrealised expectation of Ghanaians.” He said this after inspecting some of the works of the Star of Africa including the rabbits with increased reproductive potential.
The chairman of Parliamentary select committee on trade and industry at the time, Honourable Nana Akomea, Minister for Finance and Economic planning at the time, Honourable Kwadwo Baah Wiredu (may his soul rest in peace) and Fast track high court judge, His lordship Justice Gyaesayor visited the Apostle Safo Suaye Technological Centre to observe things for themselves.
Other politicians, journalists, civil servants and the general public also visited the Apostle Safo Suaye Technological centre to have first hand information for themselves.
Star of Africa, paving the way.
